With a focus on creating a warm and welcoming environment, Olentangy Orthodontics stands out among the competition. Dr. Edith Kang’s orthodontics center is made up of natural colors and elements of nature, with a minimalist aesthetic. The Brand Service was tasked with translating Dr. Kang’s vision into a new website.

The problem
Dr. Kang had recently expanded her practice and placed a large focus on patent comfort and a welcoming, calming environment. An orthodontics practice with this unique, bohemian aesthetic stands out among the competition. Unfortunately, the legacy website didn’t communicate this environment, and in fact devalued her brand by not accurately representing Dr. Kang’s practice and attention to detail.
The solution
We needed to create a website that matched the standards of Dr. Kang’s practice, and that was consistent with her unique visual aesthetic. This was more than taking visual queues from the practice and applying them to the website, but we wanted to understand why Dr. Kang chose this look and feel, and how to make it speak to website visitors.

In addition to creating a web presence, Dr. Kang requested the ability to easily update and modify her website going forward. After examining our options, we decided to strike a balance between ease-of-use and customizability with Wordpress.org
A Wordpress back-end allowed far more customization options than solutions like Squarespace. We were able to organize all of the existing content to a simple grid, and built the site using custom modules. This allowed the client to easily revise their website copy, and even swap out entire design modules.
